Re: Kioti users website? DELETED

Hi,

TBN has under development enhancements to the site that will create various tools to accomplish user input by brand, by model, etc. It will not be a Wiki per se, but have more functionality; it is being coded now, is databased, and able to link onto existing threads, add ratings and various other useful, fun and very interesting features.

These enhancements are scheduled to be completed sometime in early Feb. 2007.

We do not allow people to develop web sites ideas and solicit traffic for web sites that will be in competition with TBN, and therefore the thread has been deleted.

Thanks for your understanding.

Re: Kioti users website? DELETED

I may be totally out of line but the last I looked the thread was not meant to be anti TBN or even to be in competition with TBN. IMO the Kioti Owners section has degenerated from the lack of moderating out the disgruntled other brand tractor salesmen and the what seem to be anti Kioti tractor posters who do not currently own or who have never owned a Kioti from what is listed in their TBN profile. I would have thought that maybe this post advising us all of this previously unannounced "improvement" and then locking the thread might not have been as heavy handed or just deleting the thread entirely. I was an avid TBN viewer and now find myself here less often because of the what seems to be the tolerated Kioti bashing. I am not the only Kioti owner who feels that way. If you are indeed moderating - you will observe posters (with thousands of posts) who literally post on almost every thread published even when their input adds little to the discussion but negativity or is only to fan the flames of dissension or only to run up their number of posts. A wiki can be a very valuable tool for users and if TBN doesn't want to host or participate then hopefully a Kioti dealer will. If TBN is planning on incorporating this previously unannounced "under development enhancement" to the forum it will be a welcome addition and if "we" the forum readers would have been knowledgeable about the upcoming addition then the thread probably would never have existed or died in it's own death.

I actually own a Kioti and am currently happy with it's performance - I guess that disqualifies me from posting in the Kioti forum but maybe I should lurk in the NH or Deere forums - Not

I like TBN and feel that it can be a valuable resource to the Tractoring Community and wish for it's continued success but I feel that the brand bashing needs to go and be closely moderated by the forum moderators. There is already too much negativity in the world. I never would have bought my Kioti, but did so after reading this forum, endless comparisons by INTERNET and in person. Found a Dealer of integrity here at TBN and purchased my tractor from him. Thanks

OK... I am going to walk out on a limb here and call BS. He came in here specifically soliciting opinions about forming a new website that would interest the Kioti owners on TBN. How would this NOT compete with TBN? They would both be informational tractor sites. I suppose I have no place responding either. I mean I don't own a tractor much less a Kioti. Nevermind that my company has been building loaders for Kioti since the beginning of 2001 and Mahindra since 99 & I am the parts and service guy for our company amongst other things. I myself have defended the Kioti forum and their owners to bone. I went rounds with Neil in defense of the loader crack issue during which he tried to put words in my mouth he never did retract. The truth is I am done doing those things. It doesn't matter why Neil comes in here he gets bashed. Even for an honest simple question. I was able to help someone in the Kubota forum save over $400 by fixing the valve they had and not replacing. I didn't get flamed by Neil for being there. I go to almost all of the other forums from time to time to see what is going on, see if I can learn anything, or even help someone out. That's why the site is here. The Kioti forum is the only forum that seems to think the world is out to get them and keeps the wagons circled all the time. I never see the fighting and crap that goes on here, anywhere else. Now that I have gotten past what I viewed as absurd... I will agree that deleting the thread was a bit harsh. Locking it would have been sufficient I think. I did not feel the thread was appropriate, but I did not feel he was trying to be malicious in his actions. He just didn't think things through properly. On the other hand I have no idea how many similar situations have come up, and maybe they we all handled the same way so a precedent was followed. Only the mods know that. Lastly, this is a free site to us. Bashing the people that run it is a good way to get our privileges revoked around here. Why can't we appreciate what we have and try to use it they way it was intended? Share information AND opinions to help our brothers and sister in tractordom. Don't make things more than they are.

I am sure I have offended a great number of people with my opinions, but I am just tired of some of the crap. I come here to watch, learn and help people and sometimes it's just not fun. Now, 4Sarge is not in any way, shape or form the only one who has ever done this here. In fact he is usually one of the LAST people to do that. My goal was not to single him out, it just happened that his post got me on my soap box. I have rambled enough and I hope we don't have more people go the way of KiotiJohn, but we DO need to find some peace in this forum. I hate the color green and DON'T want to hang out there....

Thanks for your thoughts, positive posts and your sincere attempts to help all users with positive advice and information but did not see my post as bashing the forum. This is what the forum should be about but I had a question and comment about the method used on a particular thread. I thought the wiki a good idea because I didn't want to wade thru the BS that has been prevalent for awhile. I too am trying to be positive but didn't see the original poster as trying to steal TBN users, maybe that is just naive on my part. I do not see Neal as being the ever helpful poster but a meddler. (Sorry, I realize that's not positive but he rubs me the wrong way - the proverbial used car salesman)

I have been here about a year now and as far as "Circle the Wagons" -I own a Kioti - I paid for the Kioti with my hard earned money and Neal wants to tell me why I shouldn't have bought Kioti but the brand that he sells. Isn't that extremely self serving on Neal's part? If you own or have owned or have personal knowledge (such as in your case) of information that is helpful by in all means share it with the folks who can use it. More than just KiotiJohn are gone. I don't want to see others leave this forum because of the Kioti Bashing, real or imagined by us. If I am banned because I spoke my mind, then so be it. As you said yourself - Neal distorted your words and to our knowledge wasn't chastised or didn't even retract his erroneous statement. He just continues to post whatever and whenever regardless of the facts. As I stated in my original post, I like TBN, it can be a very helpful web site but it's discouraging when posters post the negativity just to see their own typed words. Can't we all be just a little positive and not bash the other guys brand. Tractors are mechanical things designed by men - they are both flawed from time to time including me

Thanks for your thoughts.

Re: Kioti users website? DELETED

I have Kioti, kubota, Ford and John Deere - and I like them all. I read more than one website and that is the way of the world. I think TBN needs to facilitate my information gathering. If TBN is the one and only stop shop, then they need to step up.

Overall, I don't see competition, but collaboration. If I can come here and fine unbiased/unfiltered info, then I'll visit more often and recommend to others.

Good luck in your business model.

Neil, it is remarks like that that got you in trouble in the past. Must you constantly flame the fires of brand warfare with your inflamitory rhetoric? ;)

You forgot to name me. Supposedly I've been better in recent times, but you can't forget my apparent past. ;)
