Reader's Digest - Truck Sizing

   / Reader's Digest - Truck Sizing #11
If you are looking used, you can get some excellent deals on full sized trucks right now. people are for some reason dumping trucks that get 12 mpg (large V8 3/4 and 1 ton). The dealers are about giving them away now...

If you fill the rear tires with fluid (and you should for best back hoe use), you are looking at 7000-7500 for the L35 and that would probably be best riding a 12,000 or 14,000# goose neck trailer. 24' long should give you room for all the stuff.

You can also rent those $19.95/day trucks at Lowes (probably Home Depot, too).

Around here the Lowes/Home Depot trucks are $19.95 for the first hour and they don't have hitches, which I think is by design..
