I noticed this evening that the wild plums in the general area have started flowering, so spring is getting close. We have one particular wild plum over our well, that do to position, bred, whatever, is one of the last around to bloom, and I've always taken it as, once that specific tree blooms, it's spring. We have already had our "false spring" and this week, we are in 2nd winter, with 30 degrees Monday morning, but days are getting longer.

I mowed and sprayed weeds this week in preparation for a week of rain coming... but that's typical for southern CA this month and next. Then we can talk spring

**** no!!! It's just starting to act like winter here. It finally got below zero temporarily, but we still don't have enough snow to make it worthwhile.

If we get the 3-4 inches of rain as predicted we will out of the woods for another year, no drought restrictions.
Preparations made and fingers crossed. Wish us rain.

We got a fair bit of rain this morning, and on/off so far today. Yesterday, the potatoes had zero sign of coming up, and I kinda wondered if ants hadn't eaten the seed taters; but this morning 75% ad broken through the ground. I know I planted about 14 days before you really suppose to.

We only had about 3 weeks of winter, so far. Blizzard, with a bit of snow so I only had to plow the drive three times. It's in the high 40's here for the next week. 57 a day or two ago. We need more snow and I'm sure we'll get some. But, I DID put the chains on the tractor (after I last plowed), so it may not snow again... :D

I am anxious to ride my bike but I am not mentally ready for spring/summer, I am pretty stress about this incoming summer... good thing that it is still 2.5 month away for us

We still got some cold nights coming up, and an odd ball late season freeze could still be in the cards. We can have frost as early as Halloween or even as late as Easter, so its hard to guess.
