Spent the better part of Saturday getting the place ready for winter. I put in this snow fence using a regular t-post pounder. Using that concept, I made a pounder for my son to use on the driveway markers. 1/2" iron pipe with a cap. Easy-peasy though he did get to harass me as I bought a 4 foot length of pipe for 4 foot markers. Not enough coffee when I was at the store! Hacksaw solved that problem

I have to admire the fortitude of you folks from up North; anyone who can live through those Winters has to be tough. It's bad enough here; but I would be much happier sitting on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean. I hate Winter.

I think it's what you choose to make of it. I'm not a fan of the bitterly cold temps that we sometimes get but I do like to play in the snow. Not sure what I'd do without all 4 seasons. Plenty of people up here seem to hibernate for the next few months...

I agree with your statement "I do like to play in the snow".

My motto is "Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow". Sounds like a song doesn't it?:)

Haven't got anything prepped yet. Need to soon. That involves insulating barns and getting really heat in the house, then finishing the house, and getting the plow trucks going

i put the plow on the truck and also I rented a chipper to get rid on all those branches so now I have more room to push snow in the back yard.

Just exactly how does a snow fence work ?

I have one area of the driveway that always drifts pretty bad. I put the snowfence about 50 feet upwind and the idea is to change the wind patterns so it drifts by the fence. Last year was my first time and it did seem to work. I added a second 50 foot length this year.

I googled snow fence after I posted .. We have a commercial property that I plow, and the drifts are a issue. Unfortunately I don't see them accepting a snow fence.
