We got about six inches beginning yesterday and today in my area of central MN. We also had some freezing rain first which caused the schools to close today. The snow was mixed, some that was blowing but most very wet with a blue tint under cloudy skies from all the water. We have had very little snow this year.
I live in a subdivision on the edge of a town with 60k people. I must have done 20 driveways and parts of another 30 (no charge). They were all around 50 feet long. Usually I do half a dozen including mine.
I have a Deere 4100 CUT with a 47" blower. The reason I did so many drives was because the walk behind blowers couldn't handle the wet snow with two guys telling me they were using theirs just to push snow. Three were shoveling out their broken down blowers The partial drives were just the ends where the city plow pushed up sloppy wet snow three feet deep and people were really struggling to even shovel it. Temps were right at the freezing point. I started at 6:30a and finished at 3:30p. The 4100 handled it all flawlessly. I used about 6 gallons of fuel. All good fun.
I need a cab which I will fabricate when it warms up in a couple of months.
