I have a hf and maybe some sort of Hobart knockoff mask and ordered some 1.5 cheater lenses for them. So, how / where do you install them. I got so frustrated I just taped them to the inside if my helmet as I couldn't figure where to put them.

some welding masks have clips to hold the cheeter lense, some have lots of room in where the shade glass goes. Others have nothing and you just tape them to the inside like you and I do.

Yes, just like reading glasses.
Some places call them magnifiers.
You can get them at any welding supply.

I've got a Princess Auto (Can. version of HF) auto helmet. There is no mounting slots for cheater lens, I had to duct tape mine in place as well. Crude but effective......Mike

I just wear my prescription safety glasses behind the large lens welding hoods, cutting goggles and full face shields for grinding. Last time I had a bifocal section placed at the top of my glasses. Sure helps in overhead work for all tasks.

I didn't know until a month ago from this website. It really has made a big difference in my welding. Well, let me rephrase. It has allowed me to see how bad of a welder I truly am.
