I was changing out my land plane to my blade for the winter snow on my JD 2305, when I noticed that my 3pt didn't go down all the way. Well, it actually was, but it was going down so slow that I figured that it stopped short. I removed the land plane, raised the 3pt, then tried to lower it and although it was going down, it took like 10 minutes to fully lower with no weight attached. The adjustment screw/knob is fully open. Any suggestions?
There is hydraulic fluid in the sight glass when the tractor is off, but goes away after startup. Is that what's supposed to happen?

Thank you
Mark

Mine won't lower much at all with no weight. There is no down force, only up force. Down is just gravity based.

But I remember when it worked, with weight on the 3pt and with the valve fully open, it would come down fast! Now with weight on it, it still comes down slowly.

Most machines have an adjustment below the seat and between your legs that speeds or slows the rate the 3 pt lowers. This is needed to adjust for the weight difference between implements and the type of implication.

Hope that’s all this issue is!
