I have a Ford 1700 Tractor that I just changed the Hydraulic Fluid in the Transmission and rear axle. The manual says 23 US Quarts for the capacity. However when I drained it there was close to 30 Quarts which I thought was unusual because the dip stick was not reading overfull. I put the 23 quarts in and it does not even register on the dip stick. Anyone run into this before or any ideas on what's going on?

According to Tractor Data the 23 quarts sounds like the right amount. Are you sure you have the correct dip stick for that tractor?

I had wondered the same thing, I got the tractor used so I really don't know. I will try to find out what the length is supposed to be.
