I am thinking of purchasing a rear finish mower, but havent' decided what brand to get. The most obvious choice is Woods, but I know there are other brands out there that are less expensive and will hold up just as well. Can you all on the forum help me? I need a 5 footer.

How wide are your rear tires?
Mine are 54 inches or so, and after buying a 5' RFM I realized I needed a six footer minimum.
Was difficult cutting close to anything with only a little sticking out each side past the tires.
That error ended up causing me to buy a second tractor, with a MMM, which I like a lot more than the RFM for my purposes. I don't have a lot of yard to cut, and have a lot of things to cut around...

A private labeled Sitrex 60" mower in Ohio is about $1059. Little Miami Trading Co. They seem to be a very good mower. I have a Caroni 60" and love it.

I have a First Choice 5 ft. rear discharge in Iseki/NH blue. Love it to death. I've used it 4 months now and finally lifted it up to scrape grass from under it and there wasn't much there; it all came off with a garden hose.

As I have said many times I prefer the John Deere RFM or MMM. A 5 ft. JD RFM is the 261 and the larger 72'' is the 272. The 272 cuts great and has the famous John Deere deck quality.
