Mowing Rear finishing mower for BX

I've been away from this forum for well over a year now and I'm sure this question has been asked previously, But please humor me.

I've had a BX2200 for over 2 years now and have been using a 72" Bush Hog rear mount finisher (yep, it's true, the BX handles it just fine). I'm due for a new one. My mower is probably about 10 years old or so and getting pretty beat up. I remember a while back I found a website for a company that made implements specifically for the BX. Does anybody know that company off hand? Or, are there any other companies that are currently producing stuff for the BX, other than Kubota?

The Bush Hog is a bit big for my needs. I have an orchard and the 72" deck is tough to fit in between some of my trees. I"d also like to get a rear discharge, the Hog I use now is side and that's a bit inconvenient for my needs as well.

We sell both Rhino ( BR, FM, GK series) and Bush Hog (RDTH series) mowers. Some models available rear discharge and some models are side discharge. I always recomend a 60" 3 pt. finish mower for the BX1800 & BX2200. I'm surprised that you run a 72" back there. How well does your 3 pt. pick up the mower? Do you have a loader or weigts up front?

Have you considered the 60" MMM for your BX? The cut and manuverability is excellent...

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I run the loader with the mower. I think the deck would be too heavy without it. The tractor picks up the deck rather nicely actually. I turned one pin in and left the other out for ease of hookup. I'd like to get a deck that is a good bit lighter for many reasons. As I said, the tractor picks up the deck (almost 600lbs) but it puts a lot of stress on all three connection points of the hitch. On damp grass the deck also tends to pull the tractor on inclines when going sideways on them. I wouldn't recommend the 72" deck for anybody. It's definately not the safest deal for the BX. I gotta heckuva deal on the mower and a 72" rear blade (the blade is fantastic on the tractor). Got them both for $1000, and was offered $1300 for the mower deck on a trade in alone. Been using the mower for 2 years now and I just feel like I want to downsize a bit. Won't let the wife get near the tractor with that Hog on it.

I'm curious. You mentioned a Bush HOg that you recommend for the BX. The 60" decks I looked at weren't all that much lighter than mine. Has BH introduced a lighter deck that I'm not aware of? I'll check out he Rhino's. I assume they have a website?

I considered the MMM. Problem is that while it would be nice for the orchard, I also cut some large grass fields on my families horse farm with odd gully's in them for drainage. I back up and drop the deck on the side of them and it works perfectly. I've found a few other situations where both have pros and cons. Most importantly though, I take the tractor into a lot of fields and woods where I need a lot of clearance and I just don't want to have to take the MMM on and off constantly. The Rear deck is a matter of seconds.

The MMM is awesome though. Just not the right solution for me.

The Bush Hog RDTH60 is the heaviest of these 60" rear discharge finish mowers. The Rhino BR60 is 472 lbs., the FM60R is 554 lbs. and the GK60 is 560 lbs. The Rhino website is www.service-rhino.com. Hope this helps.
