Hello

Having problems with the fender mounted turning signals. On both sides the fender mount light don't work, they did. First one side then the other stopped.

Brake light works full strength on one side and 1/2 strength on the other.

Any ideas where to start?

Not a big deal but snow season is almost here, which will mean early morning blowing and would like to have them working.

Thanks

Losing them a little at a time and with full and half strength sounds like a ground problem. Also, as in some other posts with electrical problems, check the wire connectors for corrosion. Members have been cleaning and using dielectric grease before reconnectiong.

I concur with VictorW, I would supect a ground problem. Check and clean all ground connections. If your fenders are metal, then the lights are probably grounded right through the fender mounting bolt / bracket and they are probably all rusty.

I had the exact same problem and it was a grounding problem in the sockets or in the bullet connectors (in under the fenders) feeding the lights from what I remember.

agreed ground, I've got same problem on right rear brake light, it is the ground to the fender.

Thanks

I will get at it tomorow and see if I can find the ground problem. I was/am hoping it will be a quick fix.

Cheers:)

I looked at my CK30hst and there is a black multiple wire connector under the top of the fender. It doesn't look like there is a separate ground for the light housing itself. I'm surprised that mine haven't done the same thing with all the Winter plowing. As mentioned before, a member had a problem with the bulb socket becoming corroded. If that doesn't do it, I guess you'll have to follow the wire harness to the next connection and hopefully won't have to go any farther. Wiring and electrical things can be fun.
