Rear hydraulics for backhoe on Ford 1220

I am having a problem to figure out how to tie into my tractor hydraulics to have rear hydraulic QC to run my backhoe I have a ford FEL and valve now that has 3 lines going to it there is also another line out of the hydraulic block just below my pump which is feeding the FEL on the lower left of the engine that has a line going to the rear I assume that supplies my 3PTH
Can I tap into one of the loader lines in series or can I tap into the line I think is going to my 3PTH and put that in series and run my Kelly B 10 backhoe. I have searched the forums but cannot seem to find a definate answer i keep reading about dead heading the pump and it has me nervous to make a mistake. Why does my FEL valve have 3 lines one pressure one to tank what is the ouher one for. I would like for my loader to be operable when the BH is attached.

A good loader valve will have.

input line
return line
PB out
4 work ports.

The PB is used to feed valves downstream, and if you wanted to use a BH, then the PB port could be the supply.

The BH return could go directly to tank.

I have an OEM ford FEL valve my tractor is an 89 I looked but all the ports appear to be used. could the 3rd line comming out of ther FEL valve and going back to that hydraulic block valve on the lower right of the tractor be the PB that i need to tie into series for my backhoe I would like to see a pict or a schematic for the FEL valve and that hydraulic block or splitter valve on the bottom right of the tractor I know which line os pressure going to the FEL valve and which line is return to sump but the 3rd line has me confused

That third line from the loader valve will have a PB adapter on it and may go back to the hyd block.

It will probably feed the 3pt, and you can remove the hose from the 3pt port and install a QD to feed the BH. Install a QD on a short hose for the 3pt. When not using the BH, connect the PB QD and the 3pt QD.

That is just one way. You could install some remotes and have options for other implements.

You could get a remote with detent and use that spool for the log splitter, and still have use of the 3pt.

Can you show some picture of the return/tank port side of the valve? A lot of the PB ports are in the center of the valve.

I see seven ports, which indicates that you probably have PB.

Can you ID the hose going to the 3pt? That should be the PB hose and should have fluid flowing out this hose anytime you are not using the loader spools.

The return/OUT hose should be going to tank.

If you have to, you can do some test to ID hose.

With the loader valve in neutral, the return hose will not have any flow.

Remove the return hose and place in a bucket and start engine.

If there is no flow from that hose, that is probably the return /OUT hose. Now, with the hose still in bucket, raise the loader a little bit. You should have flow as long the cyl is getting fluid. You are pushing fluid in one side and causing the other side of the cyl to push out fluid. The flow will stop when the lever is in neutral, except for drainage..

If you should choose the wrong hose , just shut the engine off.
