I have a mid 1960's ford 3400 diesel---
had a hydro leak which gradual drained my fluid to the point where the lift quit working. I fixed the leak (cross shaft seals in lower case )
and refilled the fluid but the lift would not work. Then screwed a valve and hose into hydraulic pump and tried bleeding the air out- thinking there was air stopping the pump from priming. Bled it with no change.
So then I ordered an overhaul kit for the pump. rebuilt pump - getting 2000 psi at idle. so looks like pump OK now.
fluid level good.
Where should I look next? lift cylinder piston o-ring? unloader valve ? what would be the next logical place to look ?
