I am the proud owner of of a BX2230 and am noticing that when I lower the rear blade to scrape the nasty white stuff and ice from the driveway, it takes a couple of seconds more than it used to due to it stops mid way and then releases. Any thoughts?
I would make sure the linkage under the tractor that goes to the midmount mower isn't moving or binding. It should be raised all the way up, with the hight adjustment knob set at top. Also check to make sure your arms pins aren't rubbing/binding against anything.
You have received excellent advice from radioman and Matt, ---my bet is flow control is closed a bit to much. You could have brushed it getting on and off tractor.

One thought I also have is check your HST fluid level. when raising the 3 pt, and if the fluid is low, it will suck air (bad) causing it to stop. check the level from the orange dipstick in rear by PTO.
