Now that I'm all hooked up with the Gator blades...thanks to the help from a few of you guys /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif...now I'm interested in the hydraulic top link for the 3 pt.

Looks like I need a rear remote too. IIRC, my manual said I can install one. Will the TC21D accept it? Can I buy the complete kit (everything!!) for the remote? I presume the hyd top link is seperate. Does NH also make the hyd top link? Are these two items big $$$?

What kind of job is it to install? I installed my NH FEL, plumbing and all, and it was a breeze. So I imagine the rear remote would involve something similar.

Right now, I'm using my 6' HD rake and it would be a lot easier to adjust the angle from the seat instead of getting off the tractor to perform that. I doubt it would be any benefit for my core aerator, but it might also be useful with the dethatcher.

Thanks for any advice

Hmm...I hope 5 questions aren't too many for one post /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A rear remote usually runs about $255, the HTL about $180, the hoses about $30. Visit this link for pictures of how to install on a TC18. BTW, I just did a Search for 'remotes' in the NH Owning Forum to find this. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif TC18 Rear Remotes

TCBoomer,
Yes you can do it yourself, be prepared for some tight working space. The link provided earlier is a more or less blow by blow installation. Cost is $255 ordered through your dealer out of the whole goods book. I listed part numbers in the previous link as well. You will need to get your own top link, check with Mark Carter at Carter&Carter or Jim McCuan at Integration Engineering
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks Mike. I tried searching for top-n-tilt, but that didn't answer all my questions. It was around 2 AM when I tried searching...guess my brain was already sleeping, as I couldn't think of any thing else. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the link too, very helpful

I saw the link Mike posted about your installation...nice job /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
What did you do about shortening the hoses. Did you cut them and have to recrimp new fittings? I would like to get the correct length if possible. I also wondered where the control arm would be. Since the 18 & 21 are similar, I presume mine will mount the same way.

Thanks for the info and lead for the top link. I'll be ordering it in the next day or so.

Bob,
That's what we're here for my friend /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I have not shortened the hoses as of yet. I just used a bungy cord to hold them up out of the way. The control handle will be between the existing handles and the seat, a little further down. Watch you don't grab the brake handle instead of the rear control handle or vice versa /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Installing the new valve is tricky. There is no room to try to install them along with the spacer, one by one on the tractor. You have to run the bolts through the old valve, turn it upside down, install the o-rings, put the new valve on the bolts sticking up, install o-rings, install the spacer on the bolts, put gasket on next....... NOW ...........Pick all that up, keep it together, and try to wiggle it all into place /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Try to enlist some help, you'll need it.

Can't be any worse than turning wrenches on late model GM vehicles. At least tractors have more room. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the tip /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
