Rear Remotes Detent or Self Centering

Alright I want to add a rear remote to my machine for a Hydraulic Top Link.

What is better Detent or Self Centering.

If I have a second remote added now for future use, hould it be the same or different?

It depends on the use of the remote.

Hydraulic top link: Self Centering
Log Splitter: Detent.

A self-centering can always be converted to a detent with a bungee cord, but it a bit more difficult to go the other way.
