3-Point Hitch Rear shaft housing cover bx2350

Took this cover off as I had leak on rear of housing. Now the shaft that extends out To rotate the rear drive shaft , is about 3/8 inch out to far. Cannot get the cover back on. I hope I'm explaining correctly. HELP WHat needs done to fix. Apparently this shaft came out, but I cannot push back in.

Maybe I can help some. I'm only going by looking at the parts manual of my bx2660. It's called the gear shift PTO selector. On the other end it goes into a gear for the rear PTO and into a gear for the Mid PTO.
There is 2 needle bears and by looking I think they well be in each of the gears. There is a ball bearing in the front housing just like the one that is in you picture. My guess for you to move the PTO lever out of gear, turn and push in the shaft at same time. Also might try moving the shaft like you are trying to pickup the other end of it. Again all it the same time. I believe you can get it, just might have to play around for awhile. Just shifting PTO lever into N might do it.

That shaft didn't come all the way out did it?

No. It's about 3/8 inch to far out to get the housing back on. I can't figure it out.

Well good just try like I said. If it had came all the way out you would maybe have to take the front one off. Big Job!
