Would appreciate recommendations (manufacturer, size, cost, and other info.) on a rear snowblower for a NH TC40. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Now for a selfish plug. I'd recomend you take a look at my used Ford New Holland 715 that I have for sale in the Classified section of this board. It is 63" and is sized by New Holland for tractors both larger and smaller than yours. But anyway, 63" or so is a good size because it covers your tire tracks, your machine has enough power to move deep snow with it and you can maneuver it easily. Any smaller and it won't cover your tracks. Much larger and it is harder to drive with and you may have a problem with having enough hp to move heavy or deep snow.
Just my thoughts.

Andy

If you have the remote hydraulic outlets at the back of your tractor, to control the chute?--The 74 inch 3 point hitch Buhler/Farmking that we stock at $1995 may work for you--You have enough tractor for the machine--What is the trackwidth of your tractor currently?--Ken Sweet

Since youre located in a snow prone area make sure whatever you get will be wider than your tire tracks. Id also make sure it comes w/ or can be fitted w/ skid shoes. That way it can set high to miss the rocks during the first couple of snows. Itll also keep you from digging thru and finding them late in the winter too. A dark color paint can be good to help the sun along w/ melting off the snow that cant be brushed off (esp around the chute). After use I brush off what I can and let the sun do the rest. .If you tend to get *very* deep drfits the capability to fit drfit knives would be helpful.

I have a 29D and use a Pronovost Puma 54" w/ manual chute. It works real well. Its made for Pronovost (Canadian Co.) in Italy. I suspect though there are local favorites that can be had for less $$$. Pronovost and a couple others are local favorites here which is why I have that particular model.

One more thing...you might find a rear work light useful. Winter days in NE arent that long and many times youll want to move snow before its really light enough to see well.

I have a brand new Buhler Farm King Y6010 that I just got for $1400 delivered. I can't say if it is durable yet, it just arrived. But I know that Buhler makes several brands, you will find them under the Allied name as well. Mine seems to be very well made and the price seemed very good to me. My dealer (located in Illinois) also had larger sizes, I think a 74 and even a bigger unit. Buhler/Farm King/Allied is a Canadian company so I assume they know something about snow.

When I looked at the genuine New Holland units, they had a similar size unit to what I bougth, but it was about double the price.

Do a search on the internet, you'll find a few sources. And you will find some prices that are better than I have seen quoted on this forum. Other brands I have seen are PROVOST and PUMA and METEOR and WOODS.

Prices seem to run around a lot. Like I said, I paid $1400 delivered for my 60" unit, but saw prices that were lower (without delivery) and others that were higher (without delivery) but when I factored in the fact that I needed it delivered, and I factored in all the other fees, $1400 was a great price.

I don't own one yet, but I have looked at the Meteor, Puma, and woods. I liked in this order: Woods, Puma, (Meteor didn't like).

A 72" snowblower will barely cover the tire tracks on a tc40 if it has turfs it will not cover them at all

For what is is worth--we only ship assembled and serviced new units and in 40 of the 50 states deliver with free lift gate truck for easy offloading. Hard to put a dollar value on these things--I guess it depends on the buyer and how valuable his time is?--Ken Sweet

Farmerdick we have a TC-40D and use a 6' Woods with manual chute. My 1st choice would be a 7' blower but I purchased the smaller blower for a 25HP tractor some years ago. It has always performed well and I use it on a gravel drive without problems. If it turns out that I do require a wider blower I will also be listing this one here at the TBN site.

My 25HP tractor sold within 24 hours of a post here so people do read the classified section.

Good luck to you and your New Holland.
