Rear tire chains for S470D Buck

Well, I guess it's time to get chains for the Buck. I've got the "diamond pillow" turf tires and I need to be able to scrape a 450' gravel driveway, which is on a hill, when it snows. I've got plenty of traction for rear blade work with the gravel, but frozen stuff may be a different story. Looked around a little and looks like nobody has the 9.5-18 size. I'm going to email TireChains.com, who says they'll make them up.

Anybody know a good source?

What style chain works well on this tractor?

Any clearance issues with the fenders? Looks a little tight there.

Any other chain tips? I've never used them at all on any vehicle.

I've only used chains a little bit, basically while I was in college in Pacific northwest. The only useful contribution I have for you is to put them on now, rather than when you need them, and to put them on someplace warm, rather than out in the blowing snow...

I found it easier to put the inside on tighter, then after driving a bit, pull the remaining slack out where it is easy to reach, on the outside of the tire.

I would check the clearances before you order anything, just to make sure you can fit them in there.

I got a quote for 3/8", 4 link ladder style chains from TireChain.com. Price is $139.75 plus $34.99 shipping. Needs 1 1/2" fender clearance. What they have are too long and require cutting down, but that may be common. Maybe a more robust design, even 2 link, would be better, but these will probably work. Also had 5/16" chain for $120.76 plus $21.99 shipping. Seems like the larger chain is worth the difference.
