Has anyone run rear wheel tire chains on their 1025R? I have a set of chains from my X740, which I can adjust to fit, but I got looking at it, and I see some hydraulic lines in front of the right main wheel which appear a little close to where the chains could be "at speed". I sure would not want to be clanking tire chains against the hydraulic lines!

Put them on and try them out. If they are fit to the wheel, then should not harm the hyd. lines.
Not sure what is meant by "at speed", as chains on tires usually are not driven very fast like "road speed". Maybe you can fill us in there.
For inside clearance, I added spacers to set the wheels out for more tire chain room close to the fender, but your situation sounds different.

I happened upon a fairly large John Deere dealer while driving home this aft, and stopped in for some paint. I asked the wheel chains question, and the seemingly knowledgeable sales rep said that chains are not recommended on that series of tractors, both because of the near hydraulic lines, and more so for the nearness of the fuel tank under the left fender. So, I guess, no chains....

If you're going to push a snow blower or thrower, you can probably get good results with the front-wheel-assist engaged. With 4 wheels powered, there is a big gain in traction compared to a 2 wheel drive x740. If you have the heaver 2 stage blower, four 40 lb suitcase weights on the 3point hitch will help even things out.

In spite of a lot of weight, if the snow is wet and 6" or more deep, it can be slippery enough to lose traction on all four wheels... and the result is get out the shovel. Beenthere done that more times than I care to remember.

What I often do when that wet snow comes, is to put chains on the front wheels only. Gives that little bit extra to break the slippery surface and dig down to dirt, gravel, or paved surface.

I just don't like to shovel out a 4wd tractor.;)
