FEB 2010 Blizzard ! This was what it looked like here last year on Feb 6th ! This situation convinced me that we needed a tractor and a large blower.

..... well, I don't mind saying that I am very happy we've only had about 8" of snow here so far this year !!! I knew that once we bought the tractor there would not be another blizzard for at lease 5 years.

Man I have been holding back, but with this thread it is hard. I just want to give a gentle reminder for a video of the snow blower at work that a few of us would like to see. So the next time it snows keep it in mind. If you can it would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted to record some clips when we had the eight inches but my wife would not co-operate and do the filming. Anyway I will setup a tripod next time.

It was hardly worth the effort to connect the snow thrower for 8 inches. I was trying to only leave about 1-2 inches on the ground. I kept having to adjust the height of the blower because of the uneven ground- kept digging-in. The blower is huge and more useful at handling 15-30 inches leaving 2-3 inches to be moved by the sweeper or plow. I am having 2 inch sleds made for the blower in the hope that it will glide more easily over uneven ground.

Thank you. As you might be able to tell from my posts, I am very excited to see video of the blower. So I want to thank you in advance

I've used the snowblower for 3 years now and the only time I don't use it is when we get mixed snow/rain and it gets too slushy. It works great in any depth of snow. I have even used it in 2" of snow. Then I use it as a scoop, no power to the auger. Works much better than a plow, no spillage. Once I have the snow moved into piles, I turn on the auger and clean them up.

Have you used it on crushed stone or gravel roads? Have you used it on grass or dirt areas?

I use it on a gravel driveway, not crushed stone. I think the different may be in our locations. Our ground (Central New Hampshire)stays frozen solid from December to late March most years. I have tried to use it on unfrozen ground and it is a little tricky, as is using a plow on unfrozen ground. 99% of my experience is snow removal on frozen ground and ice, and it works great.
