Hi folks,

I'm finally moving to a larger tractor (4310), now that we're ready to take on more of the outdoor tasks in our new place.

I've got my '08 X500 on eBay but I probably should have done a sanity check on the pricing, given that the market is so tough. So... looking for feedback.

It's got 201 hours and the following attachments/accessories:

- 54" deck
- barely used 48" snow blade and chains
- barely used box blade and hitch
- 7-bushel PowerFlow bagger
- Tractor cover

I'll refrain from stating my eBay price, although you could easily find it if you want.

But I'd like to see what folks come up with... Thanks for opinions.

Apparently the deck is belt driven, not PTO shaft driven.
I'd think $4k would be a reasonable expectation.

If on eBay, don't expect early bidders. I wait until the last seconds to put my top bid in. Avoid the frenzy.

Just a thought but unless you get enough for your mower I would recommend you keep it. Get a separate tractor for the larger tasks with the proper tires and save yourself the time and agravation of swapping mower decks and implements. I have found it much better to separate the lawn mowing from the tractor work.

agreed. Unless your desperate for cash, I wouldn't sell it. You'll take a beating. I'm sure you paid upwards of 10 gr for the x500 with attachments.

I am trading my LX280 with 46 mower and bagger in for a new X748. 120 hours on the LX. Is a 2008 X500 a 2011 X700? The dealer is giving me $3200. Your location is cheaper then mine, NY, but I would expext $4000.
I have a 4410 with a 72 MMM. I agree with the posters to save the mower.

I'd also keep the mower unless you really need the cash...

Either way, hold off selling until Spring...that will give you some time to consider things. Anyway, it's getting in to Winter and not the best time to sell lawn equipment.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Certainly things to think about.

jenkinsph, I have very little trim to do, and I can handle that with my old 33" walk-behind mower. It's about 15 years old and still running like a champ (love that thing!). The rest of the mowing is pretty wide open.

Although from a cost-per-hour standpoint, the X500 is probably cheaper to run for pure mowing than the 4310. And is probably just as efficient. It's a 54" deck as compared to the 60" deck on the 4310, but I'm guessing the X500's maneuverability would make up for the difference.

Roy, always like to hear your thoughts... I could hold off until spring, but I was thinking that the snowplow would make it attractive to someone as a fall purchase.

I'm wondering if waiting until spring is worthwhile - there is depreciation over time. Will the depreciation between now and spring be offset by the spring sales bump?

The bottom line issue is the WF (Wife Factor) - I promised I'd sell the X500 to go the 4310!!

Suggestion...don't make promises like that. :D

Promise the first born, or next but not your green tractor.

Being Deere, it will not depreciate much more than it has already.

Is that your Zero turn in the background?

Laughing - we've been together long enough that we've established certain policies. In exchange for her not buying another horse, I keep my machinery investment at a reasonable level. Seems like a fair trade to me.

If you're talking about the cat, yep, that's a zero turn for sure. If you mean the mower... Technically it wasn't called a "zero turn" when I got it. But it does have an automotive-type differential so it will spin right around. Overhauled the carb last year and it starts on the first pull.

Adirondaks, the X500 is still the same, X700 is a beefier machine.
