I decided to start here as I am positive this problem goes well beyond Kubota tractors
I am reassembling the axle housing and brake case (don't ask). The shop manual calls for use of Threebond 1208D or equivalent. My question is what is equivalent? The choices seem endless and the Threebond website does not even mention 1208D. So, what RTV sealant does everybody else use to seal parts of transmission, differential, brake and/or axle housings?

Fortunately I have a few days before I need to use something as the brake case is still at the machine shop. Thank you in advance for your help.

permatex has a great line of products, Gasket Makers, I use the ultra blue or the high temperature sealant for most things. Its available in most of the auto supply stores, at least in BC.
