I picked up an old 3 point sprayer I'd like to rebuild. It's been sitting idle for several years, but the tank and frame and booms are in decent shape. The hoses of course are all rotten, and the fittings have rusted, etc. The roller PTO pump and pressure regulator were at least stored inside, so they appear to be OK. I plan to completely re-plumb the sprayer, and put in some valves to allow me to spray out one side or both. I think I've got the plumbing figured out, but the way I received this, it had 2 73 degree nozzles mounted together on a swiveling splitter every 30 inches across the booms. It seems like most sprayers I'm seeing now have 1 tip mounted some distance apart. So my question is, 1 tip or 2, what type, and how far apart? I'm assuming there is some calculations that need to be done involving the height of the boom, just not sure where to start. Another question is, why would they have had 2 tips right next to each other?

Check out Fimco sprayers for coverage charts and how to calibrate. My sprayer has 80 degree spray tips (#8002) every 20 inches. Your control valve should be able to spray Left, Right, Center or any combination. You should not have to put seperate valves in. I have a 12 foot boom toatl and 7 nozzles. I run about 5 or 6 MPH and at 25 psi I spray 10 to 12 gallons per acre. I'm not exact, but i'm tons better than I was with a boomless atv sprayer I had before! I'm only doing bird fields and deer plots, but I still want them to look as good as I can! Hope you can figure it out!
