rebuilding a 3204 cat engine and have a few questions

I traded an old 4 wheeler for a 1992 Cat 943 that has seen better days...but I only have $500 in it so what the ****. Got the motor out and I am having problems removing the fuel injection pump and the front engine case. The fuel injection pump shaft just will not push out of the gear and something near the dowl pin in the lower left engine case wont let loose. Any ideas?

Have a look here in the Cat section and see if you can find something close. If there are any hidden tricks they should be addressed to get things apart.
