I have a set of old 3 pt hitch model "J" 8 foot Ford discs.I would assume the shafts that ride inside the cast bearings are pretty well worn.Would really like to rebuild mine from off the shelf parts from Agri supply or such.Anybody done this before. My rear frame cracked and I spliced in a new piece of angle iron.Would really like to attempt at building a new set out of some nice heavy 3" angle iron which I can get for next to nothing from job sites and it is already primed.I would think with a few cold winter Saturday mornings in the shop I could come up with a new set by copying the old ones for alot less than buying new.Any thoughts on brand of shaft, bearing discs to use that are reasonable and easy to find ?
