Loader rebuilding hydraulic cylinder

iam trying to rebuild a cylinder on a jd 175 loader.the problem i have is after i get it rebuilt and back on the tractor iam getting so much blow by that is pushing the outside seal out.ive took it apart twice but cant see anything wrong. any thoughts would be appriciated.

What do you find when you take them apart the second and third time?
Must be something in there that holds that seal in.

Can you give us the part numbers that you are replacing?
jdparts lists 5 different lift cylinders for the 175. (or is this a bucket cylinder?)

Is there supposed to be a backup ring? In stuff I work on there is a plasitc ring that fits in the o-ring groove on the oposit side of the pressure that keeps the o-ring from pushing out. I don't know it it applys to tractor cyclenders though.

Just rebuilt a couple cylinders- on mine the gland has a pressure seal around the rod on the inside (and has a specific direction it faces so the pressure causes it to seal) and a wiper around the rod on the outside which isn't meant to hold any pressure.
The replacement seals I got weren't as wide as original and the shop set me up with spacers that go on the non-pressure side of the seal to limit movement.
Possibly if the seal was backwards it would leak and blow out the wiper....?

Boom or bucket cylinder??? It appears from looking a JDparts.com there are several different seal kits for each type cylinder with no SN breaks listed.
