I've never bothered much with my tyre pressures as everything seemed to handle ok, but as I was giving the old girl a check over today I thought I ought to check them.

20psi in the rear, 15psi in the fronts.

Is that acceptable? Too high? Too low? I've not a clue!Tractor drives ok I don't have any problems. The only thing I would improve if I could is resistance to slipping on side slopes.

Tractor is a an F14d on rice lugs that I use on grass on steep slopes dragging a finish mower.

pressure is somewhat regulated by the tire ply. I would say between 12 & 18psi on your rears. 4 ply fronts could run up to 30 psi but if you don't have a loader you really don' t need them that high. 15 psi for the fronts is a little low. I would go at least 20 without a loader. :2cents:

Changed my type o to 30psi. :D

My Cub/Yanmar with loader manual says 18# rear and 45# front . Without the loader I would guess a lower front pressure , but I would think a bit higher than your 15#, maybe closer to 30#.

I did think the front might be low. I noticed the sidewall cracking has got a lot worse, as though maybe the tyre is flexing to muck on sharp turns. I might go up to say 20 on the front.

Usually the tire pressure is listed on the sidewall of the tire itself. At least that's how I've seen it over here in NA.

If the tires have fluid in them for weight, just go with the tire average listed on them. Pressure is just that ... pressure. Thus with weight fluid, the pressure still would be the same. You would notice during inflation it takes less time if weight fluid is present.

In my location here in Tennessee, I keep the tractor in the lean-to shed. Thus, the sun isn't beating the heat onto the tires nor the ozone causing the dry rot to happen faster. The flip side is the tractor can get somewhat dusty. Thus, filtered hose water is needed like a car wash.

If you are doing front loader work, running at the max pressure listed on the tire is usually the norm. Those numbers match what's given in my tractor's user manual.
