I have quotes from two dealers for an L3130 as I want it that are within $300 of each other. Just waiting for them to appraise my two trade-ins. Now my question is how to setup the remote hydraulics. I plan for a Hydraulic top link and for a grapple on the bucket. Is it reasonable to tee from the single remote I already plan to have, taking plumbing forward to the front edge of the operators platform to also connect the grapple? I really can't see where I would need operate them simultaneously. Now, the complicating factor, I also plan to add a Hy-Reach Tree Clipper with tilt. This would need two circuits. I know I could add a solenoid selector valve to handle both functions of the Clipper but what would be the most effective way to set this up and should I start with one or two remotes?

Recommendations anyone?

Vernon,

It seems to me that if you tee the line, when you operate the valve to say, clip a tree, your top link would actuate at the same time. If you added a valve after the remote on both lines, to actuate either line would require actuating the remote and then the added valve as well. Might as well add a second remote or diverter instead.

I'm intrigued by that Hy-reach clipper myself. I talked to the factory and it comes with a electric diverter since skid steers usually only have one circuit. I like the idea of rotating the unit between flat and vertical without getting off the tractor. Seems like you could cut down trees and then rotate the unit to section them if they fall in the way.

Not to get too far off you post but have you found any good deals on them? They don't have a dealer in Indiana so they sell direct at full list. Wouldn't even throw in freight.

You should not tee off a single remote's work ports since once the spool is activated with the lever, fluid will flow to both cylinders on the tee. This will cause slow operation.

Since you are using the Kubota remotes just get two and use one for the top link and the other for the grapple. Why complicate things when the solution is easy, although it will cost some money but probably less than an electric diverter. It will also give you more flexibility in the future.

You cannot add another valve after the Kubota remote. It must be added before the remote by taking the loader's power beyond line and connecting it to the new valve. Then take the new valve's power beyond and connect it into the loader hydraulic block (where the loader PB line was originally attached). And don't forget the return to tank line.

It is much easier, cleaner, and probably cheaper to just get additional Kubota remotes.

I have not found any price breaks on the Hy-Reach Clipper. They also have no dealers in Texas so I am going to try and convince some local dealer to buy and split the markup.

I had figured to disconnect or use a mechinical top link for what ever implement that was in the rear when I want to work in the front.

As it turns out, the electric diverter valve is about half the cost of a second rear valve, at least in base cost. The cost of all the plumbing to take the hydraulic circuits to the front I have not figured out.

Thanks for your ideas.
