Perhaps this is covered by commercial sponsors of TBN. If so, Please point me in a useful direction.

I'm to the point that I need the many and several assorted fittings to install a three spool loader valve, on the Hurlimann 435, and so free up the pair of Aux ports.

There seems to be a HUGE disconnect between the pricing for - 08 ORB fittings at my local friendly hydraulics store, and the pricing listed by places like discounthydraulichose dot com.

I can't justify spending premium money for commadity parts, but I can't stand junk.

Suggestions?

typical laundry list, 1/2 dozen each

-08 ORB by 1/2 pipe to mate with 1/2 inch QDs (is there an option to NTP for QDs?)

3 pieces of -08 ORB X -08 JIC for the line in, PB and tank

couple of plugs, and a bunch of replacement o-rings. A few fittings "just in case".

TIA

Cal, the price disparity you are seeing is most likely a case of volume and cutting out the middle man. Your local repair ship is likely buying his parts from another distributor, who is buying from a brand name suppliers, who may get many smaller parts from some of the OEM manufacturers that supply DiscountHydraulicHose.com. Because we buy direct from the manufacturer, we are able to pass those savings on to you. We don't have authorized dealers or distributors, but many small repair shops do buy our products and resell them. If you're more comfortable buying locally, you can do that. If you main concern is about quality, I assure that our products are of excellent quality. We have been selling hydraulic fittings and hoses since 1958, and we have many satisfied customers right here on TBN.

To get down to the fittings you are looking for...

Many QDS do come with optional ORB threads instead of NPTF, but to be honest, sometimes it is cheaper to throw on an adapter. The price difference between the different couplers could be $10-15 or more, and an adapter can often be had for a buck or two.

Female ORB x Male NPTF
This adapter will let you connect a hose end with male ORB into a QD with female pipe. The most common size (#8 ORB by 1/2" NPTF) is only $1.63 when you buy online.
Female O-Ring Boss (ORB) x Male Pipe (NPTF) Adapter

Male ORB x Male JIC Adapters
Female O-Ring Boss (ORB) x Male Pipe (NPTF) Adapter

The other parts can be found on our web site as well. I didn't provide direct links because I wasn't sure exactly which plugs you wanted (JIC, NPTF, or ORB)

Any questions about these parts, don't hesitate to call 800-535-1302 or email support@discounthydraulichose.com
