I have a 3110D and right of the steering wheel I have warning lights for oil, temp and charge. To the left of the steering wheel there is a red light that isn't marked. When I turn the key to 'on' both the oil light and this unmarked light come on. After I start, the oil light goes out, but this unmarked light stays on. I never noticed it before, so I think it just started staying on. Does anybody know what this light is for?

Is it the brake light. My FX28 has a light that comes on when the brake is on.

I don't think it is a brake light, as the 3110 shouldn't have such a feature. I've had a few 3110's and do not recall such a light. I just checked the YM330D Operators manual (very similar tractor) and do not see a light on the left. Does it look like a factory installed light? I am wondering if someone added something on. Post a picture of it if you have a digital camera.

cfoxmd, isn't the FX28D a sweet tractor? I have one as well. It is very capable tractor and a joy to drive. It is the first Yanmar I have had with hydraulically operated brakes. Neat feature.

It may be the coolant overflow bottle sensor or the battery electolyte sensor. I had to cut the wire on my battery sensor because US batteries don't have provisions for a sensor. You might want to check the coolant level in your overflow bottle.

It's my first tractor so I don't have much to compare to, but with power steering and plenty of power it is very easy to use.

The coolant level is good. It does have an American battery. It is hard to tell if it is factory or not. I will post a picture next week when I get back from vacation.

It shouldn't be very hard to trace the wire and see where it goes. That is the easiest way to find out what it does. If it goes with a grope of wires, then unplug one at a time, where you think it is going to, and see if the light goes out.

What does the red light look like? What kind of symbol does it have on it?

Here is a picture of the dash. You can see the red light to the left of the steering wheel. The oil light is also on. After I start, the oil light goes out, but the red light on the left stays on.

I have traced the light to a sensor mounted just below the pto lever. I have a 336D service manual, but this sensor is not shown. Anybody have any ideas?
