I've gotta say, it works pretty good, but remember to remove the tailgate first  Just be careful. I got these 2 tons of rock off of this trailer by myself in about 4 minutes.

Cornering fast with downfolded side boards works even better, cuz' you dont even have to disconnect the trailer, and it doesnt require additional manual labor to spread the gravel !!! :D

The only problem I see is the ROPS is folded down and you know that is not a safe way to operate. But then again you probably just lowered it to make the picture clearer.

Good Job.

XLR82V2:

Nothing wrong with your idea. I do it will my dual-axle trailer, loaded
with gravel, but I sure can not lift it off its back wheels!

I also had my trailer deck made with sheet steel (10 guage) for
a smooth surface. Gravel or dirt slides out better than a wood deck.

I just did that Friday evening with a 16 footer loaded to the gills with sand. I stood that thing up about 60 degrees before the sand would slide off.

Nope, just north of Chester, Ellis Grove... Don't blink, you'll miss it.;) Actually I live out in the country a couple of miles south of EG.

Nope, no IDOC for me, but I've got a couple of Bro's in Law and quite a few friends that do (or used to, I should say... a few of them took the early out)...

Welp cuzz, I jus don't no bout that. Mite be a little hard to spred them rocks out like them big dumpers do withouts one 'a dem tailgate things tatched back ther on tha back like a big truk. Cuz wen it comes, it all comes at one time in a big heap like the ol' bull out back. I thawt it wuz eazey nuff justa spred it out with that buckit hooked on the fronts a the trakter any ways.

:D:D:D

I've gotta quit typing like that, or I won't be able to stop:eek::eek::D:D

I hauled 2 more loads of rock today after I took those pics... removing the tailgate makes a HUGE difference... I just got too excited to try it on the first load and forgot all about the tailgate being on there still:eek:. I can unhook from the pickup, dump the trailer, clean off the remaining 3 or 4 shovels full of rock from the back of the bed/bumper, and have the trailer hooked back up again to the pickup, all within about 5 minutes... I had the gal at the scale at the quarry scratching her head as to how I got back there for another load so quickly... I told her I've got a BIG shovel :p
