Id be inclined to find a way to peg it down too. I'd imagine as you pull the logs through the V, your rack would move a bit.

My method is a bit simpler. I just load the logs onto my 10X5 open backed trailer and back up to the pile. I generally cut the logs 10ft lengths. As I pull the logs out of the trailer 1 by 1, I chop them up into 12" pieces and they fall to the pile. They are just at the right height on the trailer for me to not have to bend my knees while cutting. Cuts out as much of the manual handling as possible. Now If I had a conveyor off the back of my trailer to move the logs to the high pile instead of having to throw the logs on the stack by hand, that would be an idea...
