Referral for moving a tractor from New Jersey to Connceticut?

Looking at a tractor located in New Jersey.

Hoping I could get some referrals for someone
to move the tractor to northwest Connecticut for a reasonable rate.

It is a 3 hour drive.

You might need to give a bit more information. How big a tractor, what does it weigh, etc.? Have you thought about renting a trailer and or a truck and doing it yourself?

Think about the rental: you need to rent a trailer heavy enough to carry the tractor. Then perhaps a truck heavy enough to pull the trailer. The truck must have a heavy enough receiver, hitch and ball on it, all of which you may wind up renting too.

Then four chains, which you pay rent on and four chain binders, which you wind up renting.

Renting can get expensive very fast depending on how heavy things are.

Anyway, how big the tractor, extra weights and all that will determine how expensive.

Have you asked you dealer to move the tractor?

You might want to try uship (Heavy Haul Trucking | Flat Bed Equipment Transport & Tractor Shipping) which is a broker. I looked into this when I moved from PA to Vermont. You'll get a number of bids to compare. Just make sure the one you choose has insurance, just in case.
As Norm wrote, you'll need to provide more information as to weight, size, etc.

I didn't use uship...we ended up putting the tractor on the moving van.

If he is talking the B7800 and he has a half ton pick up, a car trailer should haul it. At 1750lbs it's lighter than most little cars (a Honda Fit is about 2700) but it sounds like either he doesn't have the equipment, time or the inclination to do it himself. The haulers that I know haul D6 and D8 size loads, they would have to charge more than he would want to pay. He might check with his local wrecker service about their roll-back services.

and start calling around for prices.
put an ad on craigslist.org

contact local tractor dealerships, or rather tractor repair places.

who do you personally know? pending on size of tractor you might have many friends that has a trailer.

who ever ya go with, double check there insurance

I second the rollback wrecker. Most have a set fee, then a one way per mile charge.
