What do most TC series owners do to refuel your tractor ? Is there any easier way to refuel your tractor that has a FEL than using a 5 gallon cans ? The position of the fuel tank makes it tuff to refuel without spilling fuel on to the hood or dash. The only thing that I dislike about my TC24 is the location of the fuel tank. Other than that, it is one great little tractor. Please share some of your ideas or experiences. There must be a better way than 5 gallon cans.

You could buy a Class III with the fuel tank behind the seat !! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Have you tried a search. There have been quite a few threads on this topic with ideas from long spouts to elevated tanks to electric pumps.

Alan,

I have a 29 and I use a funnel whether have the loader on or not. It basically boils down the tank is in a bad spot. When the loader is on I rest the tank on the loader arm and tilt over until it starts to pour into the funnel until the 5 gal pail gets to the empty side and then I just lift it up. Some people have built pressure type tanks, some have built stands for the tanks and used long hoses. As I was driving down the road one day I saw a guy filling one of the New Hollands and he was standing on the deck. It looked like the 5 gal can had a long hose on it that he would put in the tank and thne he just tipped it up. I always was going to go back and ask him how he built it but never have.

Try a 5 gallon fuel can with only 3.5 to 4 gallons in it. It weighs less which makes it easier to hold over the hood of the the tractor.

Or, do a search on the forum for how to get diesel smell out of your clothes. There is a lot of good information about it. Mostly because of my misfortune.

Good advice there. I used to use a full 5 gallon diesel can to refuel but now I fill a 2.5 gallon empty container from the 5 gallon one and it is MUCH easier to refuel, have not spilled a drop since I started using this method.

I use a Han-D Pump on my TC18. Under 2 mins total for 5 gals of fuel. Set the container on the floorboard and pump it into the fuel tank.
Here is one vendor, TSC is another.

Oh yeah, when it gets low in the container, I use a wide mouth funnel and pour it in /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have a TC 24D too and I just spill fuel eveywhere. It is always a great time to hose off the tractor at that point
