My 2024 LS 347 has been going into regen every 9 hrs. I have 27 hrs on it and it just did a regen for the 3rd time. I’m running bush hog not low rpm’s and I changed fuel. Still every 9 hrs. Normal?
A new 2024 stage 5 engine with redesigned EGR system is going to regen more often than the previous tier IV engine. 30 to 50 hrs. was typical with tier IV, but with stage 5, around 8 to 10 hrs. is pretty normal so yours is working correctly. Just so everyone is aware, they also have now programmed a turbo protection feature into the ECU software for turbocharged engines. If you start the engine with the throttle above idle position, or throttle up too soon after starting, the throttle won't respond and the engine speed may surge up and down slightly to alert you that turbo protection mode is active. This feature is to prevent revving up the engine before it has built up oil pressure so you don't damage the turbo. If it does this, you just move the throttle back to idle for a few seconds and then throttle up again and it will return to normal. If you wait several seconds after starting before throttling up, (which should be standard procedure anyway) you won't ever notice this.
