What ways have owners beefed up the area prone to failure on the KB2375?
I would think bore a hole the outside diameter of the pipe/tube the hinge goes in, cut it in half and weld a half around each side. I am not a welder so I wish to ask what others have done or if more is needed. I think weld could just be added to the outside of the side to build it up as well, but don't know if that would effect the temper etc. and make it worse.

Any and all ides welcome!

Thanks all.

Mark

From what I have been able to learn, the failures were do to a batch not being welded properly. I bought my machine used... and it has a new arm and cylinder due to failure, Kioti replaced them even though it was out of warrentee... by a month or two. I looked at the old pieces, after I had purchased the machine, it was fairly obvious it was poor, ie; no, penatration at the welds. I don't know how, or if, you can tell by looking. On my machine, things came undone at about the 250hr mark... how many hrs on your machine?

Mark, are you talking about the stabilizers?

If so, I've got some ideas.

I've also got a big DC welder.

Glad to help if I can.

Any excuse to use my new auto-dark helmet is a good excuse.

Sincerely,
Joel

I am told the backhoe has between 50 and 60 hours on it (I am buying it used, it arrives Saturday). It looks new.

I am not sure what Mark was talking about, but on my unit it was the dipper arm (I think that is what it is called). The tube that is welded to the arm that the bushing is pressed into was not welded to the arm properly and one time when the arm was curled back the arm pivoted at the bucket rather than at the pivot point and the arm was just pushed away as the tube was ripped from the arm. When the assembly swung away the cylinder rod got dinged up, so Kioti replace both.
I hope this makes sense.

Should be a fairly straight forward weld job. How about a gusset, tube to arm?

Can you post a picture of the area of concern.

Are you thinking it will fail? Are there signs of failure?

The key would be not warping the tube I would think.

I took a look at the link you posted... yup.. that is where mine broke. New one from Kioti is redesigned and stronger. I don't know what to tell you except examine that area after every use and contact a dealer if you see anything suspecious. I don't know if there is room to weld on a side plate or something reinforcing in that area.

I am glad to know if it goes the replacement will be stronger. I of course hope it won't fail, but Mr Murphy (of Murphy's law) and I are old buddies!

I will be back to my Maine home, where the tractor is, later this week. If I get a chance.. I will take and post pictures of my 'new' dipper arm to give you an idea of the changes. Maybe yours is already an upgraded arm... one can hope. Apparently not all arms are affected, just a small batch that were not welded correctly from the factory.
