Remember the reason

In a few minutes, I'm on the way home for a nice long relaxing weekend like most of us Americans. This weekend has always been the "official" start of summer for most people.

Some of us will spend time out in the sun, playing, er, WORKING, yeah, that's it, WORKING on our tractors and enjoying the time off.

Do me a BIG favor will you.

While you're enjoying the days, think about those folks who aren't here. The ones that laid down their lives so we can live free and comfortable. This is about them. Enjoy in their honor.

I spent 30 months overseas in the Marine Corps and have an idea of what it means to be away from family for an extended period of time.

I'm very appreciative of the sacrafice our military and their families make to protect us and defend our way of life.

I spent 10 days on a destroyer in the Atlantic a couple years ago working an install for a ship defense system. I don't know how those sailors do it. I felt like I was in prison.

I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for our armed service men and women.
