As your family gathers for togetherness, good food and the beginning of holiday cheer, please keep those poor folks who lost loved ones on 9-11 in mind. I cannot image how sad it would be to have a family gathering and be missing those innocent souls who were plucked from happiness by such heartless cruel acts. It makes me sick to hear people arguing against military tribunal forms of justice for these terrorists. I vote for swift justice and no prolonged bantering by publicity minded lawyers making the big bucks (possibly funded by terrorist sources).

I also think once the Taliban and OBL are neutralized we need to turn our attention to Iraq and any others who are planning assaults on us.

As we gather around the Thanksgiving table this year, my thoughts will be of those who have those empty seats at the table.

I hope we continue our battle on terrorism, never stopping until we are guaranteed that it will never happen to us again.

Just my humble opinion,

Happy Thanksgiving

Its really interesting that now there's a definite "whoop-ass" going on in
Afganistan, all the other protesting groups in other countries (Pakistan, Indonesia, etc.) sure seem to have shut up. I think the previous unanswered attacks (WTC bombing, Marine barracks, USS Cole) made it look like we didn't have the guts to fight back. Well, it looks like it's different this time!

Feels great to flex our muscles a little...

I forget who said it, but it was said of Jefferson Davis at his inauguration as president of the Confederacy, "The man and the moment have met." That's the way I feel about George Bush. President Bush is the right man at the right time. I shudder to think what would be going on now if Gore had won the election.

We'll never know, but I suspect very little would be different. I think the President has turned this over to the military to handle as they see fit. Would Gore have done the same thing? Maybe, maybe not, but with 5,000+ Americans killed in one day, I don't think any politician would have the guts to deny the military the chance to go after the perpetrators.

I voted for Bush (as I did for his father), but it looks like he's going to pick up where his old man left off in dismantling this country's nuclear arsenal. Despite numerous recommendations to rebuild what's left of our nuclear weapons complex infrastructure, it looks like he will do the exact opposite. As bad as Clinton was, most of the deterioration of the NWC took place under Bush Sr.

I hate it when your man wins, but he adopts the policies of the loser. (Ex.--Johnson/Goldwater, Nixon/McGovern, Bush/Dukakis)

Yea. And where are the pundits who were using words like "quagmire" and "another Viet Nam", and "look what happened to the Soviets". Where are those guys now?

We'll have to agree to disagree. I think it would be substantially different were Gore president. As Gore showed by the number of times he reinvented himself based upon polls, switched his position on abortion, etc., he's got no moral compass and unlike Bush, would not see this as a fight between good and evil. Perhaps time will prove me wrong, but I do not see Bush changing his approach to this war on terror based upon polls.

Based on his and Slick Willie's past performances, Gore would have bombed a few worthless targets, got bin Laden to send him a couple of low level grunts so we could have a dog and pony show trial and the DNC would show a major improvement in its bank balance with no controlling legal authority to find out where the money came from.

I tend to agree, just as Bush Sr. was indeed no clone of Reagan.

There was a time when I wanted Gore to be President very badly....I think it was sometime in '97. And who knows? If the Democrats would have had the guts to throw Klinton out, Gore would probably be President today.
