Remember 9/11/01 today, as it has been 20 years since the towers were taken out. We vowed we would never forget, but apparently many have.
Rest in peace all the casualties of this national tragedy!

I remember the terrorist attack on our country. Twice to Afghanistan and twice to Iraq, I remember all my friends.
Thank you and God bless you, those that died that day and all that have fought and died for our country!

I was driving home from my night shift job, listening to Mancow Muller on the radio. He mentioned earlier there was a fire in one of the towers, I didn't think too much about that the time. For those who don't know Mancow, his show is a morning shock jock type of thing...so when he started screaming on the air that the second tower got hit by a plane, I didn't know what to believe. I still now remember precisely where I was when I pulled over, and called my wife. First thing out of her mouth was "Omg, there are planes flying into buildings in NYC!" She was watching Good Morning America, and saw it all unfold on there.

My cousin works at the hotel across the street from WTC, he was there when all this went down, was down there searching for survivors.

I was about a 1000 yards away from the south tower when the 1st plane hit, crazy day in Manhattan.

I was safe at home at the breakfast table watching TV. By lunchtime I figured if today was the day the world nuked it's self to death I was going to go outside, have a smoke, a Scotch and wait for it.

God only knows what really happened that day and who was truly responsible for it. It sure changed many, many lives forever.
It changed many things.

Had to drive 500 miles back home that day. Also wondering if I'd get a call from the IRR.

Just think about this...

13 men with the help of perhaps of a couple hundred others that had support of a a country that was "friends" of the United States caused 20 years of military "intervention" (never declared a "war") by one of the greatest nations in the world.

Driving home on September 11, 2001, I prayed we would go in, kick arse, meet an objective and get out and not to try to "change minds". What we did was no different than the Soviets other than we may have spent more money greasing palms to keep the wheels turning as the Soviets were only stuck there for 11 years.

I was pissed at Bush Sr. for pulling out, but in hindsight it was a brillant move. He went in, accomplished his objective with his miltiary force, and pulled out when others wanted him to stay.
