Have seen that advice on this forum many times. This is the second time it saved a lot of grief. Due to a temporary space restriction I had to the loader on my BX and rest it on top of my carry all box. While in this position I changed the hydraulic filter. When I went to move the tractor I found that my loader would not raise. I had a moment of panic since I had just changed the filter and thought it was related. I did note that I could move forward and back slightly. Didn't move much since the loader was on top of the carryall. Since it is all the same hydraulic system I realized it must just be loader specific. As you probably figured out, one of my loader QD's had popped loose. Reconnected and all was good.
The odd thing part about it was that I hadn't touched the QD during the filter change, it was clearly popped loose (not just barely) and I had been using the loader pretty heavily the last week moving firewood.
Check the simple stuff first.
