In my first post regarding my research into buying a L4600, others have recommended getting as many remote hydraulics from the get go as possible. From the Build my Kubota site, 2 Rear Remote options prices out at $1302 and looks like this:

(1) 1ST LEVER AND BASE KIT FOR L4600
L8560-1ST LEVER AND BASE KIT FOR L4600
$512.00
(1) 2ND POSITION LEVER & STACKING KIT
L8562A-2ND POSITION LEVER & STACKING KIT
$248.00
(1) DOUBLE ACTING VALVE
L8303-DOUBLE ACTING VALVE
$240.00
(1) FLOAT DETENT VALVE
L8304-FLOAT DETENT VALVE
$302.00

If I add the third remote, it prices out at $1790 and looks like this:

(1) 1ST LEVER AND BASE KIT FOR L4600
L8560-1ST LEVER AND BASE KIT FOR L4600
$512.00
(1) 2ND POSITION LEVER & STACKING KIT
L8562A-2ND POSITION LEVER & STACKING KIT
$248.00
(1) 3RD POSITION VALVE MOUNTING KIT
L8563A-3RD POSITION VALVE MOUNTING KIT
$248.00
(2) DOUBLE ACTING VALVE
L8303-DOUBLE ACTING VALVE
$480.00
(1) FLOAT DETENT VALVE
L8304-FLOAT DETENT VALVE
$302.00

Two are double acting and one is float. I'm trying to understand what additional flexibility I will get with 3 over 2 for the extra $500? I don't mind spending the money now but I'm ignorant about the possibilities extra remotes give me. Any help understanding would be appreciated. thanks!
Mike

A Top & Tilt kit (hydraulic top & side link) will take up 2 valves (I'd recommend floatable valves for that). That just leaves you with 1 valve for a hydraulic blade angle, hydraulic scarifier teeth, etc.

With a TnT kit & a quick hitch, I don't even have to get out of the seat to swap impliments unless they have PTO or hydraulics.

TNT will use up 2 almost exclusively. I prefer float on both.

To date, I don't see an advantage of having double acting over float but do see an advantage of float over DA. Float is basically a DA unless u put in float.

If u have no desire for TNT you may not need more than 2. All 3 of mine are in use with TNT + hydraulic rippers on box blade.

Keep in mind that you can always add down the road.

Got my tractor used with 0 remotes. Added all 3 a few months ago.

Expensive remotes I would think.

Do you have the ability to install hyd components?

You can do the factory remotes if you want, but there are better options.

You can save yourself about half of what you posted if you are willing to research the parts I suggest and install. The valves will do everything you want.

You can do monoblock valves with no float and save even more.

Stacked valves is the way to go if you want float, detent, motor spools and other options.

You can read about my 3 spool install on my L3200 at http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/hydraulics/295816-kubota-l3200-tnt-3rd-function.html I'd assume the layout on your L4600 will be about the same. I'm very happy with my install, except for the TnT hoses (I should have gotten the QD's pointing down on 45s or 45s on the hoses). From what I hear on the non-Grand tractors the "factory kit" is just something clamped onto the ROPS bar. I think mine looks a lot better than spools clamped on the ROPS.
