Tractor
New Holland 4630
I have a New Holland 4630 and a Bushog brand loader(2346QT). Ever since the tractor was new i have felt the rear remote valve (?? lever under the seat) was not holding. If you hold the loader control handle till "full extension" or retraction of the cylinder, it pops out of detent, and you have to reset it CONSTANTLY...if you put the bucket on the ground then bump the control again, it will pop the valve out. the rating on the loader should be 2650lbs (according to the specs based on my flow and psi) but a lot of times digging the front of the bucket into the ground will pop it out. Is this normal? Also, when I bought it, I though you could use the 3 point without moving the remote valve back, but it isn't the case. Should it be?

Are these things normal?
Thanks in advance.

Do you have a loader valve and a remote valve?

If you are using a normal loader valve, and the float keeps popping out of detent, then you need to remove the cans on the bottom of the valve and inspect, clean and lube. Then make sure the drain hole is pointed down.

If the remote valve is using all the pump flow, there is none left for the 3pt.

Hydraulics:
Type: open center
closed center (optional)
Pressure: 2500 psi [172.4 bar]
Valves: 1 to 2 (open center)
1 to 4 (closed center)
Pump flow: 8.5 gpm [32.2 lpm]
14.1 gpm [53.4 lpm] (optional)
Steering flow: 3.6 gpm [13.6 lpm]

Are you using tractor remote breakaways to power the loader control valve as that's what I'm comprehending? If so it would be better to install a PBY plate under remote valve to power the loader valve.

I have a dealer (or factory) installed valve on the transmission under the seat that says
Quick Drop Valve
Normal Operation--FULL IN
Single Action--FULL OUT
In one position only the loader will work, in the other only the 3 point will work. It has worked like this since new so i never questioned the dealer.( although I told him I wanted "something I heard about called Power beyond valve so I could work both at once" .got a GREAT deal on the tractor so never caused a stink)
This valve has 2 hoses that go to rear *quick disconnects*...two hoses run from the QD's up to loader control valve (2 hoses in 4 out to loader, single handle fwd-rev left-right action. starting to use the tractor a lot more so it is becoming annoying.

Do you have an owners manual or a hyd schematic?

It sounds like you have an Either/Or hyd circuit, and what you want is an AND hyd circuit.

Either/Or, = the loader or the 3pt.

An [And ]circuit is like the normal open center loader circuit, where the pump fluid flows through all valves and you select which valve operates what.

Does one ever use both hyd circuits at the same time? Usually it's either loader work or 3pt work.

It would be difficult anyway as the first valve in the flow path has priority of the fluid in an open center hyd circuit.

In a closed center hyd circuit every valve could be operated at the same time if possible but each would share the pump flow.

This may or may not be the correct kit but something similar is what I was referring to. I'll bet Alexander's in Winnsboro,Tx will have the PBY kit you need . 1-800-231-6876

TX Jim, That's probably what the dealer was SUPPOSED to put on(I don't have anything that looks like that on the tractor). I will check with local new holland dealer. My main concern was not getting full capacity out of loader without "breakout" of the valve, and while I'm dealing with that, might as well get power beyond working. I don't know if I have remote breakaways (the hoses are hooked to colored connectors behind/under the seat. Bought the tractor in 96, left it at my grandmothers farm and only put about 50 hours a year on it. I know very little about what "type remotes, valves, pumps etc. I have)

To answer J_J 's question, I don't need to operate the 3 point and loader simultaneously...But when switching back and forth it is really frustrating to grab the 3 point lever to raise a bushhog up and nothing happens because the remote has loader selected (I have hit BIG ROCKS with my bushhog because I had raised the bucket to block tree branches/briars/blackberries and not remembered to put the lever back) ...I also use what ever I have on the back as a parking brake on a hill and so i constantly have to shift back and forth.
