I need to relocate the oil filter on a Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 16 horse motor.
The kids are hundred dollars or more. Has anyone ever made their own?
If so, would you please give me some help?

Pipe fittings and nipples, put it where you want. if you can't reason it out yourself...... buy the kit.

my guess is by the time you buy the parts fittings hoses and make a filter holder, between your time and parts the price of the kit does not look that out of reason to me,

Maybe convert it to use a more common filter and use one of the cheaper "receivers". You still have to machine and plumb into the existing location though.

Wont let me link directly for some reason. Take away the () for a link to a $17 remote adapter.

Ok, google remote Oil filter and click on the summit racing result.

FWIW if you use "top shelf" fittings and hose, you will burn up a hundred dollar bill with them alone.
