If I want to use a set of rear remotes to run a log splitter and the splitter has it's own 4 way valve, what do I do with the tractor valve. Tie it down with a shock cord is what comes to mind. Anybody have another idea?

that's it ....you got it .... or the other option is to add a power beyond port. You can do a search for that - there have been threads galore on it.

Do yuo not have detent ports?

The spools are spring centered. I could look and see if there is a detent cap available. But I don't think so. The other thing I could do is use the power beyond that would run a backhoe. Except I have no idea where that is . Must be two ports someplace ,one for pressure and one for return.
Most of you would know I think Hint please.

Detents are good, very convenient, but in order for them to perform their kick back to center function they have to be set to operate at lower pressure than the relief valve. This lowers available pressure at the implement unless the control lever is blocked open.

What are we talking 50 psi? difference? Log splitters on most tractor internal pumps are't super wonderfull anyway... unless they ar eon a pto or crank mounted pump.. etc..

Why do say not super wonderful on internal pump. Too slow?

It takes a fair amount of flow to cycle a 4x24 cylinder (the minimum size found on most log splitters) at what most of us would call an adequate rate. Splitting force is not an issue with your tractor, but cycle time probably will be. So far as I know, a detented remote valve is not available for your tractor. Nothing wrong with a bungee or other mechanical means of holding the valve spool in a stroked position so as to provide 'power beyond' for the splitter valve. In fact, that is more desirable to me than having a pressure operated detent set ABOVE relief pressure (as it would have to be in this case) and not reset the detent below relief in order to operate standard cylinders & such. This creates the possibility of deadheading the open center system and damaging the pump.

I was just thinking most log splitters have 2 stage pumps and it's that higher pressure that makes the difficult splits work, My horizontal kicks into high gear all the time. I wanted to do something vertical because I have some monster pieces to split. Can hardly roll them.
Tractor psi is limited to around 2000 psi so it's not clear to me that all the HP in the world would make a difference. If 200 psi cannot split it it will not split. I guess a 5 inch cylinder would but slower yet.
Think I will get a thumb going on the bucket so I can get the pieces into the horizontal.
