MF 165
I have a MF165 that was inherited. I was wondering how to take it off and on the tractor.

We would need to know which make and model loader is on the tractor. So far, you have only told us what the tractor is. The loader could be anything. :) Since it can be dangerous, if not done correctly, I would hesitate to suggest any sort of universal method.

I can't find a name on it anywhere. I can get some pictures of the attachment points and and over view.

Post a picture. I am going to guess it's a pin on loader and not quick attach. That will be a pain to take on and off if you do not have the right set up. I remove a pin on/off loader routinely and it requires something overhead (like building truss/beam etc) to hold the loader in place while off.

EACH loader has its danger points!! I had one on an AC-45 that I ended up cutting it off with the torch! Started at the bucket and went from there! IF you want to save the loader, there is WAY more problems in getting it off!
overhead lift or another tractor with loader or a skidloader is almost a must, BUT danger exists so gotta be careful!
as stated before,---PICTURES!!

Serial numbers for your tractor with dates.... The factory loader was called the MF 235.

Does it look like this?

Loaders on old ag tractors are almost universally a nightmare to remove. Even the so called "quick attach" ones are only "quick attach" in that that aren't permanently attached.
Personally I won't remove one without either a bigger loader or a yard forklift.
If your thoughts are removing it when it's not needed, and putting it back on after, forget it. My old Deeres have all had loaders and you get used to just having it there all the time, even when it can be a bit of a pain. If you have something specific you really need a tractor without a loader for, I'd honestly suggest buying a second old ag tractor without a loader... The loader is such a desirable attachment that they are usually quite cheap without one. Then you can just switch between machines without any hassle at all.

I agree with Deereman75. If the OP does have a MF 235, it doesn't appear to be a quick attach sort of design. Looks like one would have to jack up the frame rails to mounting bolt points on the tractor to install: A two man job to line up the four belly bolts. Getting it off, would require lots of adjustable stands. I have a more modern common design, a Ford 7106Q, and these follow the idea that there is a drop bar that acts as the stand and you use the hydraulics to position the FEL for removal and attachment that fits over the pre-installed, frame mounted, rail load points. Still a pain, if you have to remove the FEL on dirt ground, as things will not line up anyway when you try to re-attach. I've only had mine off once. It took up some serious real estate in the garage with a level concrete floor, and it was a bear to get it back together. Have never taken it off since. :)
