Dirt Moving Remove fanbelt on Allis Chalmers HD6 dozer

The water pump is on the left side so this must be the Buda engine. You can see it on the lower left of the first picture. The diagram on dozer identifies the grease fitting on top as the fan belt tensioner. The long screw ends up right on the fan belt pulley, but when I loosen it it doesn't seem to do anything. The grease fittings on the bottom are for the fan and the water pump. The picture on the right is a top view. The empty pulley on top is one of the water pump pulleys. The one in the middle goes to the generator and the empty pulley below.

Is there a clamp bolt you aren't seeing to lock it after you tension it with the long one? most big stuff has a two bolt system

laitec , you will have to stick the camera in between the radiator and engine and take some pictures of the front components as these photos show little .

I notice the fan is reversible , you push the blades in against the springs and turn them . You can have it blowing through the core or pulling through the core .
