Kioto CK 30
Have CK 30 and will be adding remote hydraulic valve (thanks Wallace) for future log splitter purchase. A friend will help but has little time so I will get everything started. #1 instruction says to "remove right side tire". OK, never done this and the owner's manual is no help. Where do I set the jack and where do I set the jack stand? I will take photos and post progress on this project.
Thanks

It's no more difficult than changing a tire on a car I've jacked mine up by putting the jack right under the drawbar plate your jack stand can pretty much go anywhere where it won't damage anything, under the axle would be best.

Removing the right side rear tire isn't necessary. We install the kits from above by removing the seat, seat pan, and the plastic cowl over the Position Control lever. It takes a little reaching, but you can get to the valve and the control lever pretty well by removing the seat and seat pan, instead of the rear tire.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies.
If I do not have to remove the tire I won't.
I will try to take and post lots of pics of the process.

As mentioned, you don't need to take off the right tire. Just remove the 10 or so bolts that hold on the seat and you'll get the room you need to work. This post, Kioti's Rear Remote Kit. - Page 2 - TractorByNet.com, sodamo had just installed his remotes this way and that's how mine went too. Check, what I call pipe nuts, the bolt looking pipes that hold the pipes on to the top of the valve, to make sure you didn't suffer the same packaging as sodamo and me. Also, you may want to use some type of sealant when you attach the QD to the pipe.

I believe these are the correct size.

It's been a while but it looks like they are both the right size. Sodamo just installed his, so he might be able to give you a definate answer. If you put them in their respective steel pipe collars, just the threaded area should be visable past the end of the collar.

I just installed the 2nd rear remote kit on my DK40. The first valve has a long and medium length pipe bolt. The new 2nd valves uses a long and short pipe bolt like the ones pictured above.

The term is "banjo bolt". It must come from the look of the hose end that it goes through? Neerneerneer

Just a reminder, make sure the o-rings on the valve cap are properly seated when you re-install the cap. Also, when you install the studs for the valve stack, use Lock-Tite on the threads into the valve body!! The shorter threads go into the body.
