Hi I have removed my Kelly 600 backhoe from my L1501 tractor. It runs via the engine hydraulic system. With the Hoe disconnected I tried to start the engine and found it acted like a low battery i joined the feed and return hydraulic lines to gether and it still would not start. I reconnected them to the hoe and it starts fine. Seems like there is pressure building up on the pump with no attachment on it. There must be a way to get around this.

Thanks Charles

Are you sure the QD's are connected correctly.

A loaded hyd pump will put a load on the engine.

You might install a hyd gage and check some pressures.

If the gage is installed, and you get pressure with all valve levers in neutral. then you know something is wrong.

With the BH installed, you seem to have a complete flow path.

You could try taking the QD off the PB hose and placing the PB hose in the tank filler and try starting.

Thanks you are right on. I went back and reconnected the two hoses and all was right with the system.

I now have it inside my shop and have removed the front axel to get the support for the fel welded. I have it ready to load in my truck. Thanks for the help.
