Rhino International 2224 w/Koyker 155 loader, Yanmar YM1500, Toro Zero Turn with custom rear mount sprayer
Bought a Rhino International 2224 Chinese compact tractor with a Koyker 155 loader and noticed that it doesnt have quick disconnects on the hydraulic delivery or return hoses, just connected solid. Couple of questions: since both the hose connectors are swivel male fittings (not sure if thee thread is JIC or NPT) , should I install the quick disconnects using a male on one, then a female on the other to prevent hooking up backwards in the future? Secondly, does there need to be a loop on the hoses on the tractor to return the delivery back to the return on the tractor? I dont think that is needed and I'm sure this might be a dumb question to those who already know, but want to be sure.

The tractor was cheap and needs some minor fixing but very strong for a 22 hp 4x4 compact. Information is almost non existant for these that were built for only 4-5 years in the late 90's. At $5000 the nice loader alone is probably worth close to half that. I want to remove the loader to clean, repair and paint the tractor otherwise it could stay on. Thanks for any help and appreciate any info on tractor as well. Haven't been on the site in a few years but looking forward to discussions. Thanks, Stan

Edit: It has male thread fitting on hose ends (instead of female as I stated) but not sure if they are JIC or NPT without breaking them apart.

The first question is personal preference. The second, is yes. The line suppling the valve needs to be returned back to prevent dead heading the pump. Does your valve have 4 hoses or 5, indicating a power beyond?

Yeah, a picture of the valve in question would help. Darrell Harp Enterprises out of Alabama was the importer for them back then. Don't know if they are still any help with parts though. Only tractor I ever sold that was imported by them was an Ursus 4822 that was identical to a MF 261.

That should have been 6 hoses or 7.

Those appear to be nptf swivel fittings on the valve. Only 6 hoses so no power beyond. I would arrange your quick couples so the in and out hoses couple back to each other to complete the circuit when the loader is removed.

Yep a couple of Pioneer ISO coupler sets and a couple of pipe nipples and you will be set. Kinda surprised it isn't set up like that already but shouldn't be. Have worked with quite a few botched loader installations over the years.
